Welcome to Huron
Huron is located in Beadle County, South Dakota. It is the county seat of Beadle County. The Huron Plainsman, also referred to as the Plainsman, is the newspaper. The first settlement at Huron was made in 1880. The city was named after the Huron Indians. It is currently the seventh largest city in South Dakota.
In recent years Huron’s population has once again started to grow after nearly 20 years of stagnation. We are home to the South Dakota State Fair, which is held six days before Labor Day and home to a statue known as “The World’s Largest Pheasant”, which was refurbished in the summer of 2011.
If you’re in Huron and hungry, The Scoreboard Bar & Grill is THE place to go. No matter what your craving is we’re sure to satisfy it. Try our amazing prime rib or one of our fantastic burgers or baskets. Pair that with a nice cold beer while you watch live sports on our big screen TVs. Have a special event planned? We have a sideline banquet room available for your private event. Great food, great staff, great atmosphere, the only thing missing is you…
